Built for Winston-Salem
We're Building The Family Neighborhood Spot
We aren't trying to build just another bar. We're building The Family Neighborhood Spot — a place that feels like it belongs to Winston-Salem.
A Saturday afternoon with the kids. A beer after work. A big game with friends. Live music under the lights. Dinner from a local food vendor. A movie on the lawn. Or just somewhere to sit outside and enjoy downtown.
No special occasion required.
Safe & Welcoming
A Home for Downtown's Bike Officers
Our plans for The Camel include a dedicated police substation for Winston-Salem's bike officers — a consistent place for officers to work from while serving downtown. It's part of our commitment to making this corner of the city feel safe, active, and welcoming for families day and night.
That's what a neighborhood spot should be.
More Than a One-Time Visit
There's Always Something Happening
We don't want you asking, "Is anything happening at The Camel tonight?"
We want you asking, "What's happening at The Camel tonight?"
We're planning daily and weekly programming throughout the year — live music, trivia, family nights, game-day watch parties, movie nights, markets, food trucks, seasonal events, community gatherings, and more.
Some days you'll come for the event.
Other days you'll come because it's The Camel.
Meet You at The Camel.
Soft Open — April 1, 2027
Thirsty Camel opens April 1, 2027 — and yes, we know the date. The first 10 customers through the door get their first beer free, every week, for a year. Come find out what April Fools means at the Camel.

More People. More Activity. A Stronger Downtown.
Our vision goes beyond the walls of The Camel.
We want this corner of downtown to feel active, welcoming, and connected throughout the day and into the evening.
As part of that vision, plans include a dedicated police substation for Winston-Salem bike officers, giving officers a consistent place to operate from while serving downtown.
Combined with families, events, food, entertainment, and activity around Merschel Park, it's all part of creating a place people feel good about spending time.
A neighborhood isn't just buildings. It's people.
